Criminal case
We regularly assist clients in criminal proceedings against the perpetrator who caused your injuries. This concerns, for example, traffic accidents or violent crimes, where the perpetrator is tried as a suspect before the criminal court.
The victim is then called an injured party and will then be able to join the criminal case. Suppose you are an injured party, then you have important rights in the criminal proceedings: you may speak during the criminal hearing (right to speak), you may claim your damages from the defendant and you may take cognisance of the criminal file. The injured party's position has been strengthened in recent years.
